We recently had the opportunity to take a detailed look at two Mini-ITX chassis from Lutec, a Taiwanese company which has specialized in ergonomic and space saving products for the Asian market. They are extending their SEED line to western audiences and asked us for our honest and unbiased impressions. With the review that follows, I will do my best to provide you with just such an assessment.

We tackled the SEED MA-280 this time around. This impressively small unit has a MSRP in the neighborhood of $70/USD, which is mid-priced for a Mini-ITX nettop chassis. The focus of its design is in light desktop or multimedia use, which is apparent in its form and function.

First up is the SEED MU-380. With a MSRP of around $70/USD, it is a mid-priced Mini-ITX nettop chassis aimed at light desktop or multimedia use. It comes in two varieties, the always classy black and a stylish black/silver two-tone. We received the black model, although we expect little in the way of functional differences.

Apple’s Worldwide Developers Conference 2009 in San Francisco has started. There was a keynote, as usual, a few hours ago. New Products have been announced. Here’s a list of the important stuff:
- New 15″ Macbook Pro. This one has an SD-card slot, and a battery that keeps the MBP running for 7 hours when fully charged.
- The 13″ Macbook is now replaced by a 13″ Macbook Pro. This one also includes Firewire 800.
- Mac OS X 10.6 “Snow Leopard” is going to be launched in September this year.
- The iPhone OS 3.0 is going to be launched on the 17th of June. It’s a free upgrade for all iPhones, and costs $9,95 for the iPod Touch (both generations).
- A new iPhone, called the iPhone 3G S, is going to be launched in the US on the 19th of June and on the 9th of August in 80 other countries. The new version has a faster CPU, better battery, 3.0 megapixel camera with auto focus, white balance, macro and video caputure at 30 FPS.
- Safari 4. This one is now available for both Mac OS X 10.4 and Windows.

Microsoft has released a patch that addresses an bug with the e-mail feature of Windows Mobile 6.1, causing an error message when sending e-mail messages. This problem is caused by the Alternate SMTP server feature. When there’s no server specified, it then tries to connect to a nameless server.
