Apple admit iPod was invented by a British man

September 7, 2008

Finally, the British get some credit! Two years ago Kane Kramer told newspapers he’d invented the device in 1979 which didn’t get him far with his case but when Apple needed him for a law suit filed by burst.com they were happy to call him and help them settle the case.

His invention, called the IXI, stored only 3.5 minutes of music on to a chip – but Mr Kramer rightly believed its capacity would improve.

iTunes 8 and iPhone 2.1 rumoured for Tuesday September 9th

September 7, 2008

If true, its another update for iPhone, I hope we get some improvements for the application backup procedure. As at the moment it takes ages!!! I think it should only backup the application data and not the actual application, we can download the app anytime we want, so no need backing up.

The update is meant to include new GPS-related functionality (iPhone 3G) for tracking speed and direction while excluding some features for developers. (oh and not forgetting iTunes 8 is getting an update is well.)

Intel Touts AMD’s Tech

September 7, 2008

I may have been a little short, but i think not. Don’t get me wrong, i don’t have anything against Intel, i just don’t really like when companies bash something, then turn around and then are all about it. Intel’s next generation Atom, will basically be the same Atom, only integrate what AMD had planned. Funny thing about this situation, is that Intel was bashing AMD saying that having the GPU integrated with the CPU would be to costly, and would give no advantage over having them separate. Intel seems to have changed their minds rather quickly.

Intel Larrabee Game Implementation Concept

September 7, 2008

Well, apparently, Intel has acquired the people behind Project Offset, which is pretty much the most exciting thing i have seen in a game in a LONG time, so i hope they don’t ruin it. Yes, i told you that story to tell you this, Intel is using the Offset engine for a Larrabee based game, and there really isn’t anything on it yet, but some concept art, but if you know anything about Project Offset, its a monster.
